France Expands Pathways for Indian Students Through Classes Internationales

Preparatory programme helps students transition into French universities with academic and language support

France is strengthening opportunities for Indian students through the expansion of its Classes Internationales programme, a dedicated pathway designed to help students prepare for higher education in France. The initiative combines academic preparation, French language training, and cultural immersion before students begin their degree programmes.

The programme is part of France's broader effort to welcome 30,000 Indian students by 2030. More than 30 French higher education institutions now participate in the initiative, offering access to over 200 undergraduate programmes across fields such as engineering, science, business, social sciences, arts, and design.

One of the most attractive features for Indian students is that the programme is designed to support students even if they do not already speak French. Participants receive intensive language training alongside academic preparation, helping them build the confidence and skills needed to succeed in French higher education.

France has become an increasingly attractive study destination for Indian students thanks to its internationally recognised universities, growing number of English-taught programmes, affordable tuition fees, and strong career opportunities across Europe. Recent initiatives aimed at simplifying student mobility and strengthening education ties with India further reflect the country's commitment to welcoming international talent.

For students from Kerala exploring study opportunities in Europe, programmes such as Classes Internationales provide an additional pathway into French higher education.
